- Aishwarya Rai

"Oh! Trust me, it will be."

- Geetika Sharma

Black when I get up, black throughout the day, black my routine & dreams, thus black again.

Standing at King's Door
Singing my Old Song
Shower of Gold
Shower of blessings
Sail on to your endless dreams.

Proudly wanna say.. that one day,
It was magical!

A moment in Heaven.
- Avinash Kashyap

And, girl hugged him tightly. Love conquered her fear and a new journey began.
- Sanchi Bahrani

News on increasing rapes and eve-teasing which he always ignored were now catching his eyes every morning. The daily one-hour conversation, which Komal found romantic was actually a result of Lakshit's fear for residing in another city and for making sure that she reaches her hostel safely every night.

Woken up by the sound, the room was entirely untouched; windows shut, curtain slightly open and his daughter sound asleep.

Relationships broke. Things crashed. Grades degraded. Health deteriorated. Friends complained. Parents were worried. Every possible thing was going wrong in his life.

You will remember all the lovely moments, would wish to spend more time with them, will regret for all the fights, will miss laughter with tears in eyes...

You will be here and they will be far apart.

She is remembered with all the love and has proved that body is ephemeral, but soul- eternal.
She was bubbly and suave, always ready to help others. Her 20th birthday was no less than a nightmare when she was diagnosed of cancer. She was given 2 years to live, and she welcomed the inevitable with full vigor.
- Pragya Dubey

What’s dying? I am standing on the seashore, gazing a vessel until she fades from the horizon. Diminishing in size, alleviating to a point. She has gone beyond my sight. But that’s not it. There’s someone standing on another coast, watching her arrive, growing bigger and bigger in size, saying “here she comes”. That’s dying.

- Nikita Kumawat

Second Entries:

Theme 34 - Fame

She writes a letter- "Dad, I was found laid with a guy, I was drunk. My values and moralities find insufficient to cope up with this success and fame. I'm leaving, you'll always have me".
The pen slips off the floor; she yells and jumps off the balcony.
- Aman Soni

Glittering robes, flash lights, sizzling personality and pulchritudinous in its true sense. It was nothing compared to what she has lost in the way.
- Pragya Dubey

All I wanted was to be famous. And then, I had to choose between two things I love - fame or relationships…
I stopped caring about relations, was happy with myself. But at the end, I was left alone.

Theme 33 - Phone

Nandan has already used 12 phones in a year..!
When she listened to this statement, she was wondering who was this boy who had used and dropped these many phones and that too in just one year. When she went inside the room Nandan was sleeping in her mom's lap.
- Disha Joshi

After a huge fight, I returned home. Disheartened, I sat on a chair, aggrieved and sad. For a moment, I felt it's all over. Suddenly, a strong vibration of my phone shook me. Seeing an unknown number I picked up and he was there whispering "I love You Jaan, don't go away!” And, again life became alive.
- Sanchi Bahrani

Trin-Trin!! Trin-Trin!! Blare continued from the bedroom. It was an unexpected phone call from a departed one.

Eyes gleaming, He told the telemarketer just what he thought of her, throwing in a few ugly names for good measure. Later that night his phone rang busy, the cord tied around his neck.
The lesson learned? Be careful what you say to a telemarketer. If she has your phone number, she has your address.
- Smit Patel

Struggling with an half opened eye, he pulled his phone from somewhere under the blanket. A dozen missed calls and double messages all through the night.

A relation was lost…
- Apoorva Ranka

Some people are squandering hundreds upon hundreds of Federal Reserve papers on phones, while many others are struggling to afford even a lavatory. There are more people on our planet who have access to phones than toilets. And even though I’m aware of this sobering statistic, I’m doing nothing but typing this on my phone.
- Ashwary Sharma

He sat in his cabin, staring at the picture frame. Wait! Is that Bahamas? How has he never noticed?

- Simran Chandwani

I had to leave home for my graduation. Started living in a hostel. I felt lonely. Mumma was tensed, worried and insecure too. Then I met you and realized it’s not home that made me feel secure but the feeling of oneness and safety. Yours was a home away from home.
- Ankita Methwani

The withered leaves fell upon the now dead and lifeless structure. Wait… buildings are always lifeless isn't it? Time had taken its toll on the surroundings. It used to be once a lively, almost breathing place. A place that had defined the word HOME for me. If only, it could ever be the same again.
- Smit Patel

The cage is his only home; the others are either lifeless or long gone. He keeps spinning in there all day long, for it’s not the place where he belongs. People pay to see him and get entertained, but verily it’s his misery as he’s detained. It’s sad how people can buy their happiness, at the cost of his cadaverousness.
- Ashwary Sharma

- Sanchi Bahrani

Second Entries:

I was brushing my teeth when I felt the earth move. I thought I was still dreamy.
The next moment, the earth shook. I ran outside for my life.
But within a few minutes, that earthquake took away the house, my mum and dadima.
And without both of them, how would any other place be home?

She had so many stories to share as once she daily used to walk down that road with her Love.
But she couldn't, not because her husband would sulk on hearing about her ex, but because they are not friends yet.
Just two people forced into arranged marriage, hoping things to work out.
- Paridhi Mahendra

- Jaya Kataria

I chose to shut my eyes, there was too much black around.

Her tears had dried already. And the kohl in her eyes had been smudged, too.
- Priyanka Dharamsi

Black. Yes, it was a black day for Neela as she remembered Jai. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She blamed herself for his accidental death due to an overdose of drugs. - Lokesh Dugar

The celebrations were ending; my sister's wedding, with tears of sorrow and happiness. He was there too, silently watching me cry. At the end of it, he came to me and asked "Which color you want your wedding outfit to be in?" I asked "why?" And we got the reason for another round of celebrations.

- Mehul Newaskar

- Shruti Singh

Theme 26 - Distance

"I am feeling lonely.."
Why baby? Come in my arms. "Your arms work as cocoon, I feel so safe."
Be in your cocoon always.
"I love you"
Baby, I won’t be wrong if I say, You define my existence. I love you, too.
"Baby, your love is the reason I never realize that you are 600kms away."
- Rashmeet Kaur Bedi

We entered the crowded club. Distinct expressions on every face. Some rejoiced on seeing the long lost friends, some tried to rekindle the rusted bonds. I walked towards him, our eyes met.. He turned and walked away.
Moment of realization.. Not just long years, but even a few months have the ability to beget distances...
- Nishita Goyal

And suddenly one day he turned his back towards her and never returned. Cried many nights to bed but didn't say a word to her. He knew walking the same distance back alone will be tough, but every time he saw her, he could only see that moment rewind in his head.
- Jaya Kataria

Lunch was now totally different from the times when they were colleagues. Opportunities had ripped them apart. Months later she called him and said, "I don't feel like eating!" to which he spontaneously replied, "Just shut up and say AAAA". These conversations over lunch made them relive the old days. Distances had brought them closer.
- Lokesh Dugar

We both are standing at the two opposite ends of a bridge which is broken from the mid. We cannot meet. You cannot hold me in your arms. The war between two castes has broken down the bridge. Though, the distance is societal, it cannot separate our hearts. You will be loved and cared for "always"!
- Sanchi Bahrani

Two months of sitting in opposite cubicles, trying and peaking over the four feet wall every now and then, only to realize how beautiful she was. Always finding her engrossed in her own work, he hoped for their eyes to meet and for the distance to vanish.
- Rohan Bapat

It took me 7 minutes to figure out what to type next. Another couple of seconds to realize how some day in the past, we could tell how one was doing by the choice of words and emoticons. And a sleepless night calculating and analyzing what created so much distance.
..He was a good friend.
- Sahil Chandwani

Eyes, locked in a gaze.
Hearts, beating faster than ever.
He moved in.. and the distance between their lips ceased.

When asked about the problem, he replied-
"Problem to hamesha ek hi thi yaar… par ab wo kuch nai bolti…”
His Mother was suffering from cancer & attained peace just after the day of this conversation.
Only distances make us feel the importance.
- Shashank Mehta

Covering the distances. . .
To get 1st position in Class. . .
To get freedom in teenage. . .

To get our parents back, so that we could spend some time with them!!
- Mehul Newaskar

A heart in a shell was trying hard to break through
For a long time it was kept in dark
Something was missing
That beam, that lark
Finally a day when ray falls
Mournful, it was still dark
Million colors around
Yet so alone, yet so far.
- Avinash Kashyap

She could feel him come nearer now. The air around her had shifted, as if trying to accommodate the bodies of two souls as one. She’d always heard that distance had made the heart grow fonder. She’d known that distance made the heart grow weak in its longing for that missing piece, so far away.
- Smit Patel

Distance never matters...When he was close to me I couldn't express love to him ,when we were far apart then too and now again when there is no distance between us then also I am unable to express my love to him.
- Divneet Kaur Walia

The moment I came close, she went far away. Next day, as I came close, she went away again. Today, I was far away from her and she was there at her place. Finally, I could to capture her, the so colorful butterfly. Thanks to Mumma, who got me a macro lens.
- Shruti Singh

She looks into his eyes; they are no more the same. The look that yes 'we are meant to be', once so prominent is nowhere to be found. The charm is lost, maybe inadvertently but it has. Are they oblivious of the fact that they are so near, yet miles apart?!
- Pragya Dubey

Thank You!

Hey you! Yes, you!

A heartfelt thanks to you for reaching here and for reading this blog and liking it so much. You guys encourage us. :)

And for the awesome people who have written and sent me stories on various themes, a bigg thank you to you all.
You all make this blog beautiful. :))

It's such a delight to see so many mails every night. To read, edit and compile them is a different experience all together!
I hope you all are enjoying it as much as I am enjoying editing, compiling and posting the stories.

I am sure, somebody must have pushed you to open this once, write once or send me an unsent story for once.. and I am sure you all must have loved the experience..
So just keep reading and writing! :)
(And do send me that unsent story for once! )

If you too want to write, mail me at priyanka.dharamsi@gmail.com and get in touch.

Also, if you're just reading, we'd be happy to have your comments.
Trust me, encouragement works wonders for everybody! :)

PS, We just wrote on the 25th theme! Silver Jubilee! Wohoo! :D
