Theme 39 - Eye

Black when I get up, black throughout the day, black my routine & dreams, thus black again.

Long time has passed and I have accepted blindness as a part of my life. . .
- Mehul Newaskar

In a hospital room...
"You'll have to take my place now..”

"I guess it was bound to happen.."
...the accident victim's eyes and ears talked.
- Priyanka Dharamsi

It was love at first sight when their eyes met. Her hazel-brown eyes were famous for not betraying her feelings, emotions, to anyone. But his dark eyes saw right through them. She smiled a bit. - Smit Patel

Second Entries:

Theme 38 - Music

Rhythm was in her blood. Cadence was in her veins. She respired Melody. Resonance was what she exhaled. Her heartbeats were more of Jingles and Hymns. Her lips uttered symphony. The timbre of her voice was mesmerizing.

He was quiet for a moment. "I've lost the Music of my life."

- Khyati Jain

Standing at King's Door
Singing my Old Song
Shower of Gold
Shower of blessings
Sail on to your endless dreams.
I have listened to this guy in EMRC's Srajan,
And today I am standing in million
Striving for his autograph,
Proudly wanna say.. that one day,
It was magical!

A moment in Heaven.
- Avinash Kashyap

Whenever he felt lost, irritated, alone or afraid, Rishank would switch on the tape recorder and listen his childhood lullaby recorded in his mother's voice. It made him feel like a baby in his mother's arms. The feeling which comforted him the most.

Everyone had smile on their faces; the teacher was here to stay.
- Mehul Newaskar

Yesterday when we decided to end it all, I asked for all the memories he had given me over the years.
So, he sent me those. In the form of a mixed tape..of the songs he always had been dedicating to me.
He was special, so had to be his good bye.
- Priyanka Dharamsi

65 years, their marriage was. They had a different way to concede the defeat. They used to put on a song, to let the other one know, that the war is over. And a smile was an indication. And they could start talking again.
He still takes flowers to her grave, and starts the same music, in hopes to see her smile again.

- Harshit Bhatnagar

News on increasing rapes and eve-teasing which he always ignored were now catching his eyes every morning. The daily one-hour conversation, which Komal found romantic was actually a result of Lakshit's fear for residing in another city and for making sure that she reaches her hostel safely every night.

- Priyanka Dharamsi

Woken up by the sound, the room was entirely untouched; windows shut, curtain slightly open and his daughter sound asleep.

Dear Ma,
I was broken when dad wanted to marry again. Why have you gone? Though the new mother came and held my hand, though I didn't want. She loves me and takes care. I could feel a mother's warmth which is same for all. You are far but still close to me in another form.
- Sanchi Bahrani

The moment lasted decades, her eyes in tears, his eyes filled with lust. "Sweetheart" her mother said, eyes gleaming. "Yes, little one," the man said, reaching out for her, almost catching her. Her mother turned… "Come on, my dear." The man raised his gloved hand slowly. Mother and daughter fled into the crowd. He watched

- Priyanka Agrawal

- Pragya Dubey

What’s dying? I am standing on the seashore, gazing a vessel until she fades from the horizon. Diminishing in size, alleviating to a point. She has gone beyond my sight. But that’s not it. There’s someone standing on another coast, watching her arrive, growing bigger and bigger in size, saying “here she comes”. That’s dying.

- Nikita Kumawat

Second Entries:

Eyes gleaming, He told the telemarketer just what he thought of her, throwing in a few ugly names for good measure. Later that night his phone rang busy, the cord tied around his neck.

- Smit Patel

Struggling with an half opened eye, he pulled his phone from somewhere under the blanket. A dozen missed calls and double messages all through the night.

A relation was lost…

Some people are squandering hundreds upon hundreds of Federal Reserve papers on phones, while many others are struggling to afford even a lavatory. There are more people on our planet who have access to phones than toilets. And even though I’m aware of this sobering statistic, I’m doing nothing but typing this on my phone.
- Ashwary Sharma

The withered leaves fell upon the now dead and lifeless structure. Wait… buildings are always lifeless isn't it? Time had taken its toll on the surroundings. It used to be once a lively, almost breathing place. A place that had defined the word HOME for me. If only, it could ever be the same again.
- Smit Patel

The cage is his only home; the others are either lifeless or long gone. He keeps spinning in there all day long, for it’s not the place where he belongs. People pay to see him and get entertained, but verily it’s his misery as he’s detained. It’s sad how people can buy their happiness, at the cost of his cadaverousness.
- Ashwary Sharma
